Newsome Opticians

From Daryl in Kuala Lumpur today.

For the past week I have been fortunate enough to have been in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia teaching a range of course work to many levels of students. Imagine teaching an entire syllabus in a week! It cannot be done really, but we tried hard! Starting at 9.00am every day and working through to 5.30pm with a short lunch break of twenty minutes, which was usually a cornetto! There was no let up, and it has to have been one of the hardest weeks work of this year but very rewarding.
Hopefully next week these students will qualify as dispensing opticians when my colleagues come over to examine them. I have taught from first year new students to final year pre exam trainees, from simple basics to really complex ocular motor balance, it has been demanding! Love it!

During a stroll through a shopping mall one evening I came across this fantastic scene, coloured rice laid out to form this amazing art!
